Birds

Common Bullfinch

Yet another fluffy feather ball on a cloudy autumn day. This Eurasian Bullfinch, Common Bullfinch, or just Bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula) tries hard to sit upright for the photoshoot.

Great Spotted Woodpecker

The Great Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos major) is a regular guest and just visited to peek through the kitchen window. They love to collect ripe hazelnuts and crack them at their favourite branch fork of this very tree.

Eurasian Jay

Lucky snapshot of a Eurasian Jay (Garrulus glandarius) under quite sub-optimal circumstances through a window on a rather cloudy autumn evening. Even if it's not visible at first sight, this bird belongs to the crow family Corvidae.

Waterhen

This Common Moorhen or Waterhen or Swamp Chicken (Gallinula chloropus) nicely blends into the surrounding of the lakeshore. Eagerly looking for something to eat: #busybird

Blue tit

This little fella tries to impress everybody with its flexing skills. It's a lovely Blue Tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) at the bird feeding station at the balcony.
